International Women's day 2018

International women’s day was celebrated on march 8 as usual.  Political leaders exchanged greetings as always , praising women in their speech , political gatherings etc.  Many people celebrated it at their homes and at work , wishing their mother , sister , friend and every important woman in their life. Social Media was abuzz with greetings and special statuses.

But can we say it served its purpose just because we shared wishes?? We don’t need a special day to venerate women. Instead , they ought to be celebrated everyday.

Women are known to be flexible to adapt to any situation just like how water tends to flow in every nook and corner it finds and maybe that’s why  we named the rivers of our country as Ganga Godavari and such. They are extremely patient and have the will to bear any adversity. But That cannot  justify all the crimes against them in our nation.

Nirbhaya , swathi , Hasini and Ashwini , the one who was murdered close to her college recently.. the list goes on. Not to forget Asifa , the poor child whose life was taken from her in the most gruesome way  … I’m afraid we’d lose count of all such heinous crimes.

Let this come to an end and we shall celebrate women’s day in all its true glory. Respect women. They are not the weaker sex , rather they are the  better halves.
