Hey there folks!
Its been long since my
last update and I apologize for the same. I’d like to share my views on
the term – selfie.
The first time I’ve came to know about selfie was four years
ago , when I was a fresher at work. My very first selfie was taken with my
buddies from day one of job orientation. Then It went on to become a part of my
day to day life.
During Training period , I used to sit in the last row at
class . I’m not sure whether I learned everything I was supposed to , but I sure
as heck learnt how to take best selfies. :P And so I spent the remainder of my
training days clicking selfies with my buddies , sriram and shivaram.
Later my friend’s circle came to include Leena colony
, the selfies we clicked were innumerable , literally as I had to buy a hard
disk in addition as the mobile storage was insufficient. Nowadays at ceremonies
and social gatherings , we make it a point to click a few selfies notwithstanding
the professional photographer doing his job. And thus selfie has become a part
and parcel of my life. And most of our lives too.
Whenever something exciting happens , our first thought is
to take a selfie. We don’t just stop there, rather we upload it in social media
, projecting our lives for everyone to see.
I don’t want to get into the pros and cons of selfies. In my
opinion , selfies are required. In the sense that no matter how many years may
pass , looking at them will make us relive the moment. Selfies are important
but that’s not the only thing that matters in this planet.
Why so , u ask? Feel
the moment first , before attempting to capture it in a selfie . Let’s say you
go to a beach. Indulge in the serenity of the waves. The feel of sand under
your feet. Once you’ve had your fill of the reality , then proceed to capture
it.
There’s nothing more purer that maternity. Can you even
imagine how it would feel if the mother , on holding her baby for the first
time , insists on taking a selfie at once , without savoring the moment??
Hopefully we won’t live to see such an abomination.
Live in the moment. Freeze
them later!
